ESPN published an analysis of the past 17 years of top draft picks by position (essentially 1st round picks) to determine which positions have prospered, sputtered and busted.

Take Quarterbacks as an example, what’s interesting is of the 30 guys selected in the first round over that period, only 10 have made a pro bowl (33%) and more than 50% (54%) were bona-fide busts. The numbers speak for themselves, its the most difficult skill position for NFL talent evaluators to predict.
