QB Wonderlic Scores Thru the Years

I came across this blog post that lists NFL QB wonderlic scores for dozens of players from 1982 thur 2006. Some very interesting stuff indeed, in particular you’ll notice that some of the best QB’s were all over the map.

Great QB Scores -

• 2004 — Eli Manning — 39
• 2006 — Matt Leinart — 35
• 1994 — Drew Bledsoe — 37
• 1982 — Steve Young — 38
• 1998 — Brian Griese — 39
• 1999 — Tom Brady — 33

Bad QB Scores -

• 1998 — Donovan McNabb — 16
• 2006 — Vince Young — 16
• 1983 — Dan Marino — 14
• 1998 — Aaron Brooks — 17
• 1991 — Brett Favre — 22
• 2000 — Michael Vick — 20

There are literally dozens of examples listed, as well as a link to a sample Wonderlic and a link explaining the Wonderlic. What appears certain is that a Wonderlic score does very little in determining future success given that some of the best QB’s had dismal scores and vice versa.
